The value of solid support for sick people and their families:
a new voice for solidarity
The ADO Home Assistance Hospice started in Ferrara in March 1998 with the scope of granting free home assistance to patients suffering from advanced tumours. As a form of support, which provides better living conditions for patients and their families, ADO actively cooperates with family doctors, AUSL, the Ferrara University Medical School, S. Anna Hospital and the Maruzza Lefebvre d'Ovidio Foundation in Vatican City. The Hospice exemplifies concepts of solidarity and volunteer service by offering better living conditions to patients and their families: a network of committed people who make up a support structure centred in the Hospice : a thin and yet resistant thread that goes along streets and squares to the House of solidarity, the Hospice, so as to turn Solidarity itself and Voluntary service into concepts accessible to everybody.
